Privacy in Ansible

Updated November 3, 2026.

1. About the service

This page describes data processing in the Ansible messenger. Ansible is an independent project; another messenger’s terms and corporate entities do not govern data processing in our service.

2. Account and message data

Profile and conversation data

Account operation uses your phone number, profile information, settings and active sessions. Messages, attachments, contacts and chat membership information are processed to deliver and synchronize content and display it to the intended recipients. Share profile information according to your visibility settings.

3. Storage and protection

Cloud and secret chats

Cloud chats are stored on the server to synchronize devices. Transport encryption does not make cloud chats end-to-end encrypted. In secret chats, end-to-end encryption keys are held by the participants; availability depends on the client. Recipients may save received content outside the service.

4. Purposes of processing

Data is used to provide messenger features, manage access, deliver notifications, investigate failures and counter abuse. Technical connection and session information supports service operation and security.

5. Bots, mini apps and external links

Bots and mini apps may be operated by third-party developers. They receive the messages you send them and information needed for the action you choose. Check the recipient and their terms before sharing personal data. External websites operate under their own policies.

6. Diamonds and transactions

Transaction records

Diamonds are Ansible’s internal units. Balance and transaction records are processed for accounting, result verification and error investigation. External payment providers are not currently enabled; this page does not offer bank card collection. See the Diamonds terms.

7. Who can see data

Messages are available to their intended recipients; public posts are available to visitors of the relevant channels and communities. Profile and contact visibility depends on your settings. Reports are handled under the moderation rules.

8. Managing your data

Settings and active sessions

Review privacy settings and active sessions in the app, and terminate sessions you no longer need. Availability of export, deletion and other actions depends on the client version. Do not publish personal data, login codes or keys in public issue reports.

9. Deletion

Messages and copies

Use the client’s available message deletion actions and check whether deletion applies only to you or to all participants. Account deletion through my.ansible.su is not currently available. Deleting a message does not erase copies a recipient saved outside the service; transaction records may be needed to verify balances and investigate disputed operations.

10. Updates and reports

The current version is published on this page. See the FAQ for app issues and the moderation page for content reports.
